Sees adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is a licensed clinical social worker who provides counseling to individuals, couples, and families that are experiencing grief and loss, anxiety, depression and relationship issues.
SARAH E. GATES, M.A.
Sees children, adolescents, and families. Sarah is a Licensed Psychological Associate who provides therapy and psychological evaluation services to children and adolescents individually and within the context of the family. She has experience in the areas of learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, oppositional defiant behaviors, aggression, developmental disabilities and giftedness. Furthermore, Sarah has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
MICHELLE KANE, PSY.D..
Michelle sees older adolescents and adults for counseling. She is a Clinical Psychologist who provides individual counseling for mood and anxiety issues, stress management, grief and loss, separation/divorce, and challenges associated with chronic illness. She also sees couples for marital counseling. Special interests include women’s issues and the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy to increase wellness.
SARA KRAMER, MSW, LCSW.
Sara Kramer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, brings her energy and over 25 years’ experience to Carolina Psychological Associates. Sara had been dedicated to serving families and children in all her experiences both in New England and North Carolina. She has worked in school, in homes, and in outpatient settings with children, adolescents and families dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression and more. Sara is also an adjunct professor in the Joint MSW program at UNCG and A & T University. Sara is a graduate of Ithaca College in New York and has a Master’s of Social Work from Boston University.
EILEEN LEUTHE, PHD
Sees children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder across the lifespan, with special expertise in early identification/diagnosis. She also has experience with treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and co-occurring challenges (e.g., anxiety). Other interests include assessment and/or treatment of ADHD, learning disorders, anxiety, and parenting issues. Previously, Eileen worked with children with developmental disabilities at a large Children’s hospital and worked at an autism research and treatment center.
HEATHER F. McCAIN, Psy.D.
Sees adolescents and adults for counseling. She is a clinical psychologist who provides individual counseling for those experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, family of origin issues, LGBTQ issues and general adult issues. Special interests include college aged adults, anxiety disorders, women’s issues and stages of life transitions.
DORTCH L. MANN, LPC
Sees older adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He has extensive training and experience with ADHD, adjustment issues, relationship issues, mood and anxiety difficulties, and parent guidance. Dortch also provides training and consultation to groups.
MADALINA OCHENATU, MD, MS, CRC, LPCA
Madalina provides counseling to adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups as well as vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with physical and/or psychiatric disabilities. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She specializes in counseling for: mental health (e.g., depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, grief, emotional trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, behavioral challenges), chronic physical illness causing mental health issues (e.g., chronic pain, cancer, heart disease, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, diabetes, morbid obesity), and commonly encountered issues (e.g., stress, emotional burnout, life-work balance, relationships, career, health and wellness). She earned a MD degree in Romania and she graduated with a MS in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, Psychiatric Disability specialization from UNC Chapel Hill.
JENNIFER SOMMER, Ph.D.
Sees children, adolescents, and adults. Jennifer is a clinical psychologist who specializes in comprehensive assessments and treatments for individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Other areas of interest include family and parenting issues, children’s behavioral concerns, learning disorders and giftedness, anxiety, and adjustment issues. Prior to joining Carolina Psychological Associates, Jennifer worked at a clinic specializing in ADHD. She has experience directing treatment and research programs for children with ADHD and other social, emotional behavioral and learning difficulties.
DANIELLE C. TYLER, MSW LCSW
Sees adolescents, teens, college students, adults and couples. She provides counseling services for interpersonal issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, co-dependency, trauma, adjustment issues, cultural issues, relationship counseling and LGBTQ issues. Special interest populations include women’s issues, transitioning college students, military members and their families. She is skilled in the practice of behavioral therapy, family systems, and coping skill development.
RYAN TALBERT, Psy.D.
Sees children ages 4 and up, adolescents, and adults in our Chapel Hill location. Ryan is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides therapy and assessments for individuals with mood, behavioral, relational, developmental, substance abuse, minority, multicultural, and ethnic identity issues. Ryan has previously worked in a variety of forensic settings including juvenile hall and a state hospital in California. A native of Hawaii, Ryan practices a flexible and open approach, meeting the needs of the person where they are here and now. He has specialized research and training with children and adolescent development, trauma, substance abuse, and Bicultural identity.
